軍師官兵衛の姫路城

ＮＨＫ大河ドラマ『軍師官兵衛』の
舞台としても登場した姫路城。
ドラマの人気もあってか
多くの観光客で賑わっているようです。
２００９年１０月から「平成の大修理」に
着手したため全部を見学することはできませんが、
２０１４年６月に化粧直しを
終えた大天守が姿を現しました。
それが「白い！」と地元住民からも
驚きの声が上がっているようです。
As the setting of the "General Kanbee" drama broadcast on NHK, Himeji Castle attracts a lot of tourists because of the popularity of the program. Because of the "Major repair of the Heisei era" started in October 2009 we cannot see the whole castle,but the repaired castle keep was unveiled in June 2014．By looking at the result of the repair the local residents were surprised how white the keep is.
その原因は、「昭和の大修理」から
半世紀を経て黒ずんだ壁や瓦の継ぎ目の
漆喰（しっくい）が塗り替えられ、
屋根までもが白く映えているためです。
少しくすんだ重厚な外観が親しまれてきたことから、
インターネット上などでは
違和感を訴える声もあるのだとか。
The reason of the whiteness is the new plaster on the walls and the joints of the clay tiles, which makes roof look white, too. The previous "Major repair of the Showa era" was half a century ago and the plaster has darkened. People had become used to the stately dull color and some people on the internet are expressing a feeling of strangeness.
しかし、「この白さこそが別名白鷺城のゆえん」と
修理担当者らは胸を張ります。
また、最新の技術により３年ほどは
この白さを保つことができるそうです。
予定では２０１５年３月末に一般公開となるため、
その白い姿を目に焼き付けに
訪れてみてはいかがでしょうか。
However, the repair craftspeople are proudly saying because of the whiteness, the castle is also known as "Shirasagi-jo (egret castle)." The latest technology can keep the plaster white as new for about three years. The plan is for the total repair to be done and the whole castle to be shown at the end of March, 2015. It is worth going to take a look!
